HB Retirement Honored at 2024 PLANADVISER Awards

MAY 2024, PITTSBURGH, PA.— HB Retirement was honored at the PLANADVISER 2024 Top Retirement Plan Advisers’ Annual Industry Leader Awards. The awards ceremony took place in New York City on May 8, 2024, where PLANADVISER announced the 2024 Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year Award winners.

 

Megan Warzinski, Managing Director of HB Retirement, received the Plan Adviser of the Year award in the category for Closing the Coverage Gap for her work with Multiple Employer Plans (MEPs) and Pooled Employer Plans (PEPs).

 

Megan Warzinski has worked in the retirement planning industry for over two decades and has been with HB Retirement since 2005. Her expertise has greatly contributed to the success of HB Retirement. Under her leadership, the firm has effectively created and managed retirement plans for a wide range of clients, including small businesses and large corporations. Megan leads a team of professionals, including retirement plan consultants, financial advisors, investment analysts, and service team members focused on retirement planning. She has demonstrated a commitment to closing the retirement coverage gap by developing accessible and comprehensive retirement solutions for employers of all sizes.

 

In addition to Megan's achievements, HB Retirement's Joseph Cravotta, AIF® (Senior Plan Consultant, Manager of Institutional Services), and Patrick McCallister (Senior Retirement Plan Consultant) were recognized as two of the 286 Top Retirement Plan Advisors in the industry.

The 2024 PLANADVISER Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year finalists were selected based on leadership and a commitment to excellence in serving retirement plan sponsors and participants. This year's awards were issued in multiple categories, with a specific focus on Closing the Coverage Gap, which was divided into two categories: MEPs/PEPs and Micro/Startup Plans.

 

The award winners were determined based on a mixture of qualitative and quantitative measures, including tenure in the business, retirement plan business as a percentage of practice revenue, willingness to serve in a fiduciary role to clients’ plans, essay answers, and compliance records. Finalists were interviewed by judges before a winner was selected.

Established in 2017, nominees had to be individual advisor team/offices with a defined contribution book of business. To be considered, firms had to submit responses to an application form, including information about their practices, notably their defined contribution (DC) assets under advisement.  Teams must have at least $100 million in AUA to be included. The list is based exclusively on self-reported AUA. The list is created and conducted by the National Association of Plan Advisors, an affiliate organization of the American Retirement Association, a non-profit association. No fee is charged to participate. The rating is not indicative of the nominee’s future performance. Approximately 452 submissions participated in the ranking. 452 were named to the final ranking.
